Modernizing a legacy WinForms Inventory Control tool to Blazor required adherence to strict architectural constraints: avoiding third-party utility libraries, leveraging only the client's proprietary architecture and native Telerik components exclusively, limiting off-the-shelf solutions.
Solution:
A Claude Opus-powered Modernizer agent adapted the UI guidelines, visual styles, and application logic within these tight boundaries. Claude generated Blazor components that integrated Telerik grids with natural-language filtering powered by Claude's function calling, allowing users to query inventory using conversational syntax rather than traditional UI controls. The agent's multi-turn reasoning enabled it to navigate complex proprietary patterns without external libraries.
Impact:
Completed 90,000 lines of code modernization in approximately one week. The resulting demo resonated so strongly that the client's VP and president directly requested the video and codebase for internal reference, a signal of executive-level buy-in.
