Sergio Morales Esquivel is a Principal Data Engineer and AI Subject Matter Expert at Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), where he leads data engineering strategy, architecture, and applied AI work for clients. Based in Costa Rica, Sergio has also served as Global Analytics Technology Strategist and has led GAP’s Data Analytics Center of Excellence—directing efforts to design and implement solutions to complex data problems across industries.

Sergio holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR), one of the country’s leading technical institutions. He has applied that academic foundation across data engineering, machine learning, and AI integration, with a consistent focus on helping organizations extract reliable, trustworthy business value from their data.

In addition to his work at GAP, Sergio has taught in the analytics post-graduate program at Cenfotec University, a role that reflects his commitment to building data and AI talent in the broader Costa Rican tech ecosystem. He is also an active writer and speaker: his published articles on GAP’s blog span data quality, analytics strategy, digital transformation, NLP model optimization, and the practical realities of AI adoption in enterprise contexts.
