Industry: Technology/Software/SaaS
Tech Stack: Metaflow and FastAPI, Prefect
Profile & Challenge
NZero aims to help organizations achieve sustainability and carbon neutrality by providing consultation services and real-time, accurate data on carbon emissions and energy consumption. Their platform offers comprehensive tracking and analysis tools that enable businesses to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and progress toward net-zero carbon goals.
The company offers a comprehensive decarbonization platform for sustainability leaders in government and business that seek to measure, analyze, report and act on sustainability initiatives across. NZeroOS is able to track carbon emissions via automated data collection and analysis, advanced building modeling, and the use of machine learning technologies to drive climate action. NZeroOS utilizes detailed datasets from energy providers and public sources to feed machine learning models, which in turn generate predictions, simulations and tailored recommendations. The next step in this innovation is to use data processing to support AI models updates.
SOLUTION & OUTCOME
NZero uses AI in its platform to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of carbon tracking and analysis. AI is utilized to process large volumes of data, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights that help organizations optimize their energy usage and reduce carbon emissions. The integration of AI allows NZero’s platform to offer more precise predictions, recommendations, and automation in achieving sustainability goals.
The NZero data science team feeds predictive ML models to support expert energy consulting. Since February 2022, GAP’s team has supported NZero’s AI infrastructure, performing data preparation to feed and update the AI models. Without this continuous data processing — including handling the constant data defects, missing data and format issues — the existing AI models that depend on this data would not be useful.Â
This type of work with the core technologies, platforms and infrastructure is considered an AI-Foundational service at GAP because it enables the development, deployment and management of AI solutions across various applications.Â
To enhance the precision and reliability of these predictive models, GAP's seasoned team meticulously manages robust data pipelines that aggregate energy consumption data from various utility providers. Leveraging advanced ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, GAPsters integrate supplementary datasets, ensuring a comprehensive and enriched data environment.Â
Given the diverse formats and content of this utility data, GAP’s experts employ sophisticated data imputation and retro-feed techniques, seamlessly harmonizing the data for optimal model accuracy and continuous updates.

What Is Agentic AI, and How Is It Different From Traditional AI?
The word "agentic" is attached to almost everything in AI right now. It gets used for chatbots that answer one question at a time, for copilots built into apps you already use, and for autonomous systems that plan and do work on their own. As a result, the term can mean very
