For Grant Wickes, the VP Marketing at Austin-based Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), a company must mirror the image, brand and promises it makes to clients. As the leader of marketing at GAP—and an avid photographer—a picture is worth a thousand words so he’s out to convince, show and share that GAP is all about client excellence.
Grant shares a core value with members of the GAP executive team: to deliver nearshoring as the best way to create top-quality mobile and web applications, improve speed to market and delight clients. Joining in January 2016, Grant uses his marketing experience to expand the awareness of GAP beyond the word of mouth and referrals that has propelled GAP to its success so far.
Before joining GAP, Grant was:
- VP of Marketing and Business Development for Wasp Barcode Technologies where he built the marketing team and established Wasp as a leader in SMB, enjoying double digit sales and profit growth.
- Part of the founding management team of venture-backed EZ Prints, a photography startup that became the leader in private label, digital fulfilment services.
- A marketing and sales executive MIcrografx for a decade, including being responsible for the product and marketing strategy during its turnaround, resulting a 4-fold increase in share price.
Grant has a passion for photography and sharing events through digital imagery. Keen to use the latest tech gadgets to take photos, record videos and share experiences, he’s often seen around town at meetups and events.
Grant earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce with honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He’s active in numerous associations in Dallas as a participant and speaker. To ensure he maintains a thick skin, he spends his weekends refereeing soccer in the Dallas boys classic league. When not on the pitch, you’ll find him walking the two labs or with his wife enjoying and learning about wine.
